D names!

Ok so I've just realised that there are only 12 more days to go until Christmas (not counting today) and I have 23 more alphabet blogs and some other blogs that I want to do before then, so I hope you guys are looking forward to lots and lots of blogs in the next little while.

This one should be fairly short because I have always found the letter D rather unisnpiring.

Boys:

Daniel - This is a very nice classic names. I really like the nicknames Dan and Danny.

David - Another classic. I think this makes a great middle name.

Damon - I love this name. I started liking it because of the character of Damon on the Vampire Diaries. I think it sounds very cool, unusual and interesting.

Girls:

Donella - This was my friend's mum's name and I think it is cool in an old-fashioned kind of way. It is very unusual and interesting. I aslo think it sounds very sophisticated.

Diana - I think this is a very classy and sophisticated sounding name. It also reminds me of Princess Diana which is about as good an association as you can get!

Time for the letter C!

I love names that start with C so this may be a long blog!
Let's get on with it then:

Boys:

Ciaran - If you read my Irish names blog you will know that I love this name. It is so strong sounding and also very interesting.

Connall - It really was my friend Connall that made me like this name. I think it is very cool and would be a good alternative to Connor.

Calum/Callum - Those of you on Formspring will already know how much I love this name. It is really popular in Scotland but that doesn't bother me at all. it is one of my 3 favorite boys names, it's of Scottish origin and it means 'dove'.

Calder - I came across this name very recently but I can't remember where. It is almost exclusively a surname but I think it works well as a first name too.

Cooper - This name isn't really my style but I have been starting to like it recently. It is not popular as a first name here at all and I think it sounds very cool and fresh.

Girls:

Catriona - This is one of my favorite girls' names. It is a Scottish form of Katherine and I think it sounds very pretty and feminine.

Callista - Too me this name just sounds beautiful and feminine and princessy. For some reason I always imagine a girl called Callista to be pretty and blonde.

Caoimhe - (KEE-vah) This name was also in my Irish names list. The spelling may but some people off but I think it is beautiful. It is also kind of unusual and interesting which is great if you don't like popular names.

Ciara - (KEE-rah) Another one from my Irish names blog. My friend Ciara really made me love this name. It is short and sweet and very very pretty.

Claire - This is a short and simple name which is pretty and classic. The meaning of 'clear, bright and famous' is pretty good too.

Carys - Welsh names seem to be getting very popular at the moment and I like this one is very sweet. It means 'love' which makes it even more appealing.

Cerys - This is a varient of Carys which is a bit more popular here. It is also very pretty and interesting.

Catalina - This name reminds me of the Romanian gymnast Catalina Ponor. I think it is very beautiful and feminie.

Coral - This is one of the more unusual colour names. I think it is very cute and interesting and would be great if you are looking for something different.

Coralie - This name has a beatiful exotic feel. It is fresh and interesting.

The B names Blog!

Ok time for my second blog of the day!
I like the letter B much less than the letter A so this is going to be quite a short one.

Boys:

Brendan - This is a very cool and very strong sounding Irish name. It means 'prince' which makes it even better.

Benjamin - I would love this name if I thought it was possible to use it without the nickname Ben. It is classic, timeless and popular for a very good reason.

Girls:

Bethan - This Welsh form of Elizabeth is a cute ans spunky name that would make a great alternative to Bethany.

Briana - This is a pretty and feminine sounding name that I started to like because it is the name of a character in one of my favorite book series.

Bridget - This is a strong and fiesty sounding Irish name which some may think is a bit dated but is definitely due for a come back.

Brenna - This is a cute and spunky Irish name that means 'raven haired'.

Names beginning with A

I've been inspired by AnastasiaRuby's alaphabet baby name series to to my own alphabet series (Thanks Stephanie). I am going to try to complete the series by Christmas so that's going to mean lots of blogs in a short time!
I'm not limiting myself to a certain number of names per letter because I like some letters for names a lot more than others. I am going to talk about boy and girl names that I like and find interesting for each letter.

A is one of my favorite letters for names so this is going to be a long blog!

I'll start with the boys:

Alexander - Alexander is a very strong and masculine sounding name. It has a great meaning 'defender of men'. It is a very popular name and has been for a long time. I think it is easy to see why it is so popular because it really is a great name. It is my dad's name and will probably be my son's middle name. I wouldn't use it as a first name because I don't really like any of it's nicknames.

Alistair - Alistair is the Scottish form of Alexander and therefore has the same great meaning. Condsidering how much I love Scottish names it is not surprising that this name is on this list.

Angus - Another Scottish name. I think Angus sounds very masculine. The nickname Gus is very cool.

Arran - This is the name of a Scottish island and is a cool and fresh sounding name. The only problem with it is that it will often get mixed up with Aaron.

Atticus - A very cool litterary name that is definitely making a comeback. The fact that Atticus Finch is such an inspriational character gives this name even more appeal.

Alaric - I am a huge Vampire Diaries fan and that is where I fist heard this name. It is very unusual and interesting!

And now for the girls:

Adelaide - To me this name sounds fresh and old-fashioned all at once. It is a perfect choice if you like classic but quirky names.

Arabella - This is a frillier, girlier and much less popular alternative to Isabella. It sounds very feminine and princessy and can still use the beautiful nickname Bella.

Anna - classic and timeless, Anna is a name that will never go wrong.

Angela - Another classic, to me this name sounds beautiful and strong all at once. If you can avoid the nickname Angie all the better.

Ailsa - The first of the Scottish names on the girl's list. Ailsa is very simple and pretty.

Ainsley - This is a unisex name that I definitely prefer for girls. It is a bit trendy but it is very cute.

Amelia - This name sound so feminine and pretty to me. I also love how many nickname options it has.

Aurelia - A good option if Amelia is a bit too popular for you. It has a lovely meaning too, 'golden'.

Aurora - Some people find this name a bit of a toungue twister but it is undoubtably very pretty.

Anwen - A lovely Welsh name that would make a good alternative to Ann or Anna.
